Do you pre-wash? I used to faithfully wash all my fabric before I folded them and put them away. Then I stopped. I washed a few finished quilts that hadn't been pre-washed and saw no differences. I found my camera - packed in box with random Tupperware lids.Why?I have no idea. I've been dealing with kindey stones for the last eight days. oh. my. goodness. painful. No sewing has been done. No costuming has been done. a lot of sleeping has been done. I have the bestest husband in the whole world. he has been taking awesome care of me and the kiddos. The next one I completed was a Christmas Sampler.  The blocks were made for by the lovely ladies in the Christmas in July Mini Bee. This one was a gift.For my Mom (and Dad) Quilted with the wavy lines again. She loves it.even told me she's gonna keep it out all year. She'll just flip it over to the backing. The cornerstones are signature squares I sent out with my fabric for the month.

Two different bees this month asked for fairy tale blocks.  I love making girlish blocks, so I had fun with these. For August's Fussy Cut Love, we were sent a snow white print and some strips, asked to make log cabineque blocks with the scenes as the centers.  Fun! We made it home safely from our week at the coast.  It's amazing how things can fall into place when you're away from home.  I sat on the beach and thought about all those curve balls and finally felt like I had a direction and a plan.  Mr. Chaos also had plenty of time to think while he was working.  It was a lot of hurry up and waiting for him. Monday we packed up and headed to the coast for the week.  Mr. Chaos is working the Tillamook County Fair and we tagged along, playing on the beach and having fun.  We're staying about 30 min north of Tillamook.  Spending a lot of time not worrying about anything and enjoying my kids.

Last Saturday was the Coburg Quilt Show.  Mr. Chaos and I went out and wandered around a bit.  Oh my.  A very old fashioned quilt show.  Lots of floral prints and wheelchairs.  There were a few quilts I liked though.  Mr. Chaos snapped pics for me. Whew!  I am so glad the weekend's over.  Wow!  Picked up my machine from the shop Friday afternoon.  Apparently it had a bind.  So, for $40 he cleared the bind.  He did comment that it looked like I was using the machine quite a bit, based on the lint build-up.  He figured that I had about two more years before I would need a machine that was rated for heavier use.  Apparently the Brother ES-2000

Last night at 9:58 pm my wonderful everyday sewing machine went "ker-chunk."  I stopped sewing, re-threaded everything and cleaned out all the cotton dust.  No luck.  She still functions, but she's still making the ker-chunking noise and turning the hand wheel is much harder. Jennifer sent these fabrics and asked for this specific block, which according to note is" Outside the Box" from The Modern Quilt Workshop. As much as I love being creative, I do totally have having everything planned for me.  So nice to cut and sew without thinking.  :)
